How to Hide Folder using Command for Windows OS

If you’re using Windows OS then you are great. Really Windows OS have many hidden tricks in it. Usually we will hide the files or folders by going to properties and hide it. But now in this article I’m going to share the how to hide your files or folder using the inbuilt hider in Windows OS. For doing this we need no software. Just you need Windows OS.

Well, this tricks was first published in HackingUniversity. So I thank him for this awesome trick. I’m sharing this tricks because now people usually want to hide their files. In this trick we are using some command codes. So their trick will not cause any problem to your computer.Here the tutorial starts,

New Method to Hide Folder

  • Go to Start and just type ” run ” in that search box or press Windows Key + R
  • You can find a new dialog box pop ups.
  • And in that just type ” attrib +s +h D:/Folder Name
  • Just replace your file or folder name which you want to hide with the highlighted word
  • That’s it ! You have successfully hidden your folder. Check it out now!

I didn’t say about unhidding the files which you have hidden. After hiding your files you want to open it anytime privately.  For unhidding the files or folder which you have hidden just before, just follow me. This step is also just like the above method.

New Method to UnHide Folder

  • Go to Start and just type ” run ” in that search box or press Windows Key + R
  • You can find a new dialog box pop ups.
  • And in that dialog box just type ” attrib -s -h D:/Folder Name
  • Just replace your file or folder name which you want to unhide with the highlighted word
  • That’s it ! You have successfully unhidden your folder. Check it out now!

What to do If you forgot your File name

  •  Don’t worry for it ! There is also an solution for it. Follow me
  • Go to ” My Computer ” 
  • And click ” Folder and Search Options “
  • Then hit ” View Tab “
  • And uncheck the ” Hide system protected files and folders “.
  • That’s it man !
